Katherine’s Legacy
Katherine Frances Ferruzzo’s legacy is one of compassion and light. From the moment she entered the APPLE classroom at Frostwood Elementary, she connected deeply with every student, seeing beyond disabilities to their hearts. Even as a high school student, she gave her all—bringing joy, patience, and purpose each day.
Though her time was brief, her impact lives on in every life she touched. The Katherine Ferruzzo Legacy Foundation honors her spirit by continuing the kindness and love she shared so effortlessly. Today and forever, we celebrate the girl who walked in like she belonged—and changed us for good.
Our Foundation
The Katherine Ferruzzo Legacy Foundation exists to carry forward Katherine’s fierce love for children with special needs by funding and supporting the classrooms, educators, families, and communities who help them thrive. Through donations, service, advocacy, and acts of kindness, we honor Katherine’s faith, courage, and joy—ensuring her light continues to make the world a brighter place.

Together, we continue the work Katherine cared so deeply about – bringing resources, support, and hope to special education classrooms and communities. In October more than 35 special education teachers across Spring Branch Independent School District received checks totalling more than $10,000 to reimburse them for classroom supplies they had purchased out of their own pockets to enrich learning for their students.
