“20 for 20” Campaign Raises More Than $133,000 to Honor Katherine’s 20th Birthday

This June, The Katherine Ferruzzo Legacy Foundation launched its “20 for 20” Fundraising Campaign in honor of what would have been Katherine Ferruzzo’s 20th birthday on June 21.

The idea was simple: we invited people to donate $20 in Katherine’s memory and, together, create something meaningful.

The response exceeded anything we could have imagined.

Thanks to the generosity of more than 1,000 donors and supporters, the campaign raised more than $133,000 to help continue Katherine’s legacy of serving children with special needs, their teachers, and the classrooms they rely on every day.

While the campaign was created to honor Katherine’s birthday, its impact will extend far beyond a single day. Funds raised will directly support the Foundation’s mission through initiatives such as:

  • Providing hands-on learning tools, including Errorless Task Folders and Sensory Task Boxes, to special education classrooms across Texas.
  • Reimbursing teachers for classroom supplies they often purchase with their own personal funds.
  • Organizing volunteer “Cutting Up Parties” to prepare classroom materials for educators.
  • Delivering much-needed resources through school supply drives and community partnerships.

This “20 for 20” Campaign was a reminder that small acts of generosity, multiplied across a caring community, can create extraordinary impact.

To every person who donated, shared the campaign, encouraged others to participate, or continues to support the Foundation’s mission—we thank you. Your generosity ensures that Katherine’s compassion, heart for others, and passion for special education continue to make a difference in classrooms across Texas for years to come.
